People get into Dragon Boating for many different reasons. Some companies use the sport as a team building and social occassion. There are clubs who use it socially and then there are clubs and teams who have it as their sport and who compete at a competitive level. Dragon Boating can meet all of these needs.

Corporate Teams

Companies who enter their staff. The team can choose whether to compete at a social or a competitive (championship) level.

Open Teams

Teams/clubs who form to compete at either a social or competitive  level. Some of these teams are generally the ones who look at competing in regattas overseas.

School Teams

Secondary schools teams are the life blood of this sport. This is where we find the Dragon Boaters of the future and the racing is fierce and fun to watch in this competition. Teams are split into Girls only, Boys only, and Mixed crews.
