Travelling Teams from outside of Wellington

As we understand travelling teams already have the expense of travelling to Wellington, your entry fees have been reduced to enable you to enter the Festival.   Teams from other centres entering the NZCT Wellington Dragon Boat Festival pay $1500 inclusive of GST for entry and crew tent.  This includes free entry to the Opening Ceremony and Saturday night Presentation Party.  You are welcome to purchase a training session in Wellington if you can make it here in time, for $165.   Please contact the office for an 'out-of-town' team entry form.  For preferential discounts on accommodation, please call the Wellington Dragon Boat Festival office for details on the centrally located IBIS Hotel.  This is in the perfect location as it's within one minutes walk of  the race site, restaurants, and downtown shopping.   No transport is required.

Myself as an individual looking to join a team

Costs vary depending on the team you get involved in. Most teams will ask for subs, which help contribute to the all-over costs of entering a team in the Festival. These are usually around $200-300 but may be more if the team is aiming to travel to other festivals. It's a good idea to talk with your team manager and find out what kind of financial commitment they want from you.  Soon to be announced there will be locations where you go to join a team.   These teams will be categorised in the sports division.    Watch this space for upcoming locations.
